Timeframe

A two part video installation made in collaboration with Ruth Levene. Time Frame was commissioned for the Cultural Olympiad by the National Media Museum, Bradford.  It was screened as part of In the Blink of An Eye: media and movement, an exhibition which reveals our fascination with movement and our desire to capture it through photography, film, television and new media. In the Blink of An Eye featured artists spanning over a century such as Eadweard Muybridge and Etienne-Jules Marey.

To create this work, I worked with world-class sprinter and 200m Olympic gold medal holder Leon Baptiste, training him to move as slowly as possible while in continuous forward motion exploring themes of speed, physical and mental control and competition. The work was created at the Olympic training stadium, Loughborough University. The exhibition ran from March – October 2012.
